It's safe to say that media has played a huge role to these misconceptions. There are countless movies and tv shows where tarot is depicted as something negative. šš»āāļø
I remember seeing this one scene in a horror film when I was a kid where the reader with a creepy voice was wearing these huge pile of costume in a room full of thousands of lit up candle, then she pulls the Devil and Hanged Man card suddenly the wind gushes and she levitates because she suddenly got possessed.... uhm.... š
Literally ask any tarot reader, and they'd probably say "I do my tarot in bed or on my desk wearing my jammies, sipping coffee, listening to soothing music with a candle on" (well at least that's me on a daily basis haha) š
Anyways, here are some misconceptions that I've been personally asked or experienced. If you have anything to add then I'd love to hear them on the comments below! What other misconceptions would you like to break? š§
